HARTFORD, Conn. — A Conn. firefighter has been fired after an investigation confirmed allegations that he was selling drugs out of a city firehouse.
Firefighter Rafael Diaz was terminated “after a full review of criminal charges brought upon” him, according to Hartford Courant.
Firefighter Diaz was arrested Aug. 2 after police began investigating claims that he was selling drugs out of a city firehouse. An informant reportedly bought ecstasy from him at his house, which later led to a raid where authorities found cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms, ecstasy pills, a loaded .22-caliber pistol, and $1,800 in cash.
Criminal charges are still pending against Diaz, who was a firefighter for 14 years, and is due back in court in February.
