ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs has selected El Paso, TX Fire Chief Otto Drozd III, to be Orange County’s new fire chief.
Drozd is a native Floridian who began his firefighting career in Hialeah where he rose through the ranks and served as chief for eight years before moving to El Paso.
Jacobs chose Drozd after an 11 month national search that attracted more than 50 applicants. “We had many extremely qualified candidates,” Jacobs said. “but chief Drozd’s broad experience and leadership qualities put him at the top of the list. I am delighted that he will take the reins here in Orange County to move us forward.”
