MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — An Ochopee Fire Control and Rescue District firefighter was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct following a fight Sunday morning, Marco Island police said.
Juan Flores Jr. was arrested at about 2 a.m. when police said Flores Jr. was seen punching a man on the ground near the 500 block of South Collier Boulevard.
Officers tried separating the two men, and when Flores Jr. didn’t respond to directions, he was Tasered twice, police said. Flores Jr. was “severely intoxicated” at the time, a Marco Island news release said.
The victim didn’t have any visible injuries, and Flores Jr. was treated for minor injuries, police said.
Officials at the Ochopee Fire Control and Rescue District have been notified of his arrest, reports stated.
