2 LA firefighter-medics hurt in hit-and-run collision

LOS ANGELES — Two Los Angeles firefighter-paramedics injured in a collision with a hit-and-run driver in Watts were taken to a hospital to be checked out, according to police.

The accident at 108th Street and Wilmington Avenue occurred just after 11 p.m. Saturday, said Los Angeles police Officer Tony Trovato of the South Traffic Division.

The ambulance was broadsided by a Dodge Caravan, and the van driver got out and ran, he said.
