METAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police said seven people were taken to the hospital when two vehicles collided on Pa. 75 Sunday evening.
Melissa Cannone, 28, of Carlisle, and Jill O’Donnell, 33, Fannettsburg, both suffered moderate injuries. Police did not release the names of others involved in the crash or the severity of their injuries but said everyone in both vehicles was taken Chambersburg Hospital for treatment.
According to state police in Chambersburg, Cannone was stopped at Back Road and tried to turn north onto Pa. 75 Sunday around 6:20 p.m. Her Honda Pilot traveled into the path of O’Donnell’s Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was heading south on Pa. 75.
Cannone also had four passengers — a 40-year-old woman, an 11-year-old girl, a 9-year-old girl and a 3-month-old girl. O’Donnell had a 5-year-old boy in her SUV.
Cannone was treated and released from Chambersburg Hospital, according to a spokeswoman. The hospital did not have any information on O’Donnell Monday morning.
Fannett-Metal Fire and EMS assisted at the scene. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
