NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — Firefighters helped deliver a baby early on Easter morning.
WFSB reported that firefighters responded to a call around 1 a.m. for a woman in active labor in a vehicle. The woman was in the back seat of the car and crews said she was in distress.
An ambulance was several minutes away and firefighters decided they needed to get the mother to the hospital as soon as possible.
While en route to a hospital, a healthy baby boy was delivered in the back of one of the emergency vehicles.
Fire officials said the mother and baby are doing well.
