PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A firefighter and SWAT paramedic has resigned after he was accused of selling prescription drugs.
Local 10 reported that James Comer, 38, submitted a handwritten resignation late Wednesday.
Comer was arrested last week on 16 counts of dealing or possessing drugs. His medical license was suspended and he was placed on paid leave, pending an investigation, according to the report. Comer also worked part-time in the emergency room.
He was arrested in the hospital parking lot. Authorities said he had 184 prescription pills, including OxyContin, morphine and hydromorphone, according to the report.
