LODD: Wis. firefighter dies en route to fire

ROSENDALE, Wis. — A firefighter fell ill while responding to a fire Jan. 14 and died last Wednesday.

Leslie “Les” Fryman, 58, with the Rosendale Volunteer Fire Department, was a passenger in a tanker responding to a mutual aid structure fire when he became unresponsive, the USFA reported.

Fellow responders treated Fryman and transported him to a local hospital. He was then later transferred to another hospital, where he succumbed to his injury seven days later.

The cause of his death has yet to be officially reported.

Firefighter Fryman was a 21-year veteran. He is survived by his wife, daughter, grandson and granddaughter.
