TenCate Protective Fabrics presents a real-life fire station experience at FDIC 2018
INDIANAPOLIS — TenCate Protective Fabrics invites firefighters at FDIC International 2018 to “Stop by the Station.” The booth at #2213 in Indianapolis Convention Center is designed to replicate the look and feel of a fire station adding that sense of belonging and familiarity for firefighters that are attending the show.
The TenCate Fire Station features many elements found in American fire stations. It includes turnout gear storage racks, a chief’s office, and even a fire truck — a 1951 Chevrolet 3600 Pickup Truck that was customized by a fire chief in Oklahoma. And out front, an American flag will stand tall and fly in the “wind,” thanks to the unique design by FlyAllFlags.com.
The TenCate Fire Station will also feature a large kitchen table, so firefighters can relax and take part in planned “Kitchen Table Talks” that will run on every hour that the exhibit floor is open.
There will also be some special guests visiting the Station for a some very special Table Talks. Ron “Strong” Ortiz, a firefighter for 18 years will be on hand to discuss firefighter health and wellness. When Mr. Ortiz joined the fire service, he noticed an uptick in his weight. He turned to fitness and now, at 50 years old, is among the leading voices in fitness with a huge social media following.
Also, on hand for a special visit will be Ryan McKay, a firefighter from the Atlanta suburbs who’s better known as the Fire House Chef. With more than 14 years in the fire station kitchens — previously the California Department of Forestry in Riverside, CA, and currently Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services in Marietta, GA — Mr. McKay spends every third shift preparing nutritious and tasty dishes for 8 to 12 fellow firefighters.
