NEW ORLEANS, La. — Firefighters rescued a man from underneath an almost one-ton concrete slab after a Good Samaritan heard his cries for help, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. near the Southern Scrap central city facility near North Dorgenois Street and Toulouse Street.

Firefighters rang one-alarm upon receiving the report and when they arrived on scene, the man told firefighters that he had stopped to urinate when the barrier, which had been stacked in front of him, fell over and pinned his legs to the ground, NOFD said.
