When using rescue struts for vehicle extrications, a 45-degree angle is the best angle to establish vehicle stability and integrity. It will allow you to create the perfect triangle, which is needed when using the strut in conjunction with the ratchet strap.
To accomplished this, simply dragging the strut by the head with the base on the ground. When the head of the strut comes into contact with the vehicle, it will be within that 45-degree range.
