CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. — A fire truck rolled over while en route to an emergency call Friday.
KFVS12 reported that fire crews were responding to a barn fire when the truck rolled over. There were no injuries.
Fire Chief Dwayne Kirchhoff said a mattress caught fire in the second level living quarters and the room was fully engulfed when crews arrived, according to the report.
Chief Kirchhoff says the rollover won’t affect the department, because they have another fire engine at the station, according to the report.
Chief Kirchhoff said the fire truck’s driver is experienced and was wearing a seatbelt at the time. The road was not slick and the driver came down a street and could not make a turn, according to the report. An investigation will determine the cause of the accident.
