AVANT, Okla. — Authorities are investigating the reported theft and arson of a Avant Fire Department truck, Osage County Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown said.

Valued at $60,000, the 2008 Ford pickup that is used as a grass rig was located Wednesday afternoon on a county road about five miles southwest of Avant, Brown said. The truck was believed to have been stolen late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

A computer in the ransacked Fire Department office also was destroyed, she said.

No arrests have been made.
