ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Four firefighters were hurt Tuesday morning when a fire truck hit a utility pole en route to a call.
WUSA9 reported that the fire truck flipped and landed on its side in a yard, sending four firefighters to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No details were given on the specific injuries the firefighters sustained, according to the report.
The pole snapped in half, brought down wires in the street and there is a power outage for some residents in the neighborhood, according to the report.
Police say it was raining heavily when the driver of the fire engine lost control and crashed in the area, NBC Washington reported.
Two other vehicles were also damaged. The accident is under investigation.
