KAYSVILLE, Utah — The Kaysville Fire Department’s new fire truck will be the last of its kind to serve in Utah and the country.

Built on the Pierce Quantum chassis, the rescue engine marks the department’s fifth rig of that model. With Pierce recently discontinuing the Quantum line, this unit will be the final one delivered to any fire department in the state, KSL TV reported.

“Pierce created a custom ‘Last Quantum’ emblem for Kaysville Fire, now proudly displayed on the cab,” the department said on Facebook. “We can’t wait to welcome the new heavy rescue to Kaysville in just a few weeks!”

During the inspection visit, the team worked with Kevin, a longtime employee of both Pierce and Siddons-Martin with nearly 40 years in the industry. With his retirement scheduled for April, Kevin took a photo with the Kaysville crew to commemorate his connection to both the first and last Quantum models.
