Startup technology company continues rollout tour of firefighter tracking device

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas-based ResponderX, Inc. will continue to introduce its new TaskForce Tracker system to the fire service community as the team attends Fire-Rescue International (FRI) in Charlotte, NC on July 27-29. FRI is the annual conference and expo of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), and has provided senior-level leadership training to fire chiefs and officers for 140 years.

TaskForce Tracker made its debut at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, IN earlier this year. After seeing the product at FDIC, PennWell group’s Erich Roden, Editor-in-Chief of FireRescue Magazine, described the product as “Hands down, one of the top three products at FDIC.”

The system is comprised of a device the size of a deck of cards worn on a firefighter’s protective gear that communicates with an apparatus-mounted computer to pinpoint the location of each firefighter, and track personnel on a tablet managed by the incident commander and/or safety officer. The system is always on and communicates across a passively-deployed mesh network system to both track firefighters and collect data on fire conditions to relay back to fire officers outside the hazard zone. There is currently no other device on the market available to emergency responders which is comparable to the TaskForce Tracker system.

Inspiration for the idea came to company founder and CEO Andrew Jarrett after a 2013 fire at a Knights of Columbus Hall in Bryan, TX which claimed the lives of two Bryan Fire Department lieutenants and severely burned two firefighters.

Mr. Jarrett and the ResponderX team will be providing information about the system and speaking to departments interested in piloting and/or purchasing the system. Interested attendees and media may contact Director of Client Relations Cody Blount to schedule interviews or individual meetings with Mr. Jarrett during the conference.

About Responder X, Inc.
ResponderX was founded in 2015 to engineer technology-enhanced safety solutions for emergency services professionals operating in hazardous environments. The idea of ResponderX originated from the fallout of the tragic Knights of Columbus Hall fire in Bryan, Texas on February 15, 2013. On that evening, two firefighters were killed and two others injured while battling a blaze. Our founder, a fellow Firefighter, sought to find and develop technology solutions that could provide on-scene decision-makers access to more information to formulate better and faster tactical decisions. Our goal is to prevent deaths and serious injuries among the heroes who protect our community.
