Streamlight® Introduces Next Generation of Right-Angel Light

Survivor® LED Delivers Advanced LED Technology to Fire and Rescue Professionals

Eagleville, Pa - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance lighting equipment for the fire and rescue industries, introduced the next generation of its right-angle flashlight, the Survivor® LED, adding cutting-edge LED technology to a fire industry mainstay.

“This new model of the Survivor further enhances a light that is a firefighter favorite because of its toughness, compact size and reliability, " said Streamlight President Brad Penney. “Available in both alkaline and rechargeable models, the light’s state-of-the-art LED will never need to be replaced, making spare bulbs a thing of the past. And the light features an ultra-bright white beam with a 500-foot range, while also optimizing peripheral lighting, making it the ideal light for a wide range of applications, including structural firefighting, EMS use, extrications and technical rescues.”

Penney said the new Survivor features a 3 watt Luxeon® LED, which offers the long life and reliability of an LED with the brightness and range of a conventional bulb. The Super High Flux LED lasts for 50,000 hours and provides 65 lumens of power, eight times brighter than a standard, high-intensity LED. The Survivor LED offers three levels of brightness, including a high beam setting with a continuous runtime of up to three hours and a low beam setting, which can run continuously for six hours. The light also features a strobe setting for added convenience and safety.

Using a dual power source, the Survivor LED operates on a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery, while also permitting firefighters to insert a spare pack of four “AA” alkaline batteries to reduce the likelihood of being caught in the dark with a spent battery. The LED model fits existing Survivor charging units, including an optional dual unit for charging the light and spare pack simultaneously. A fast charge model also is available.

The light’s newly designed spring-loaded clip with built-in attachment ring provide superior retention, conveniently latching to a belt, harness or turn-out gear for hands-free operation or storage. A rubber-booted pushbutton switch is recessed in the light’s polymer housing for added protection.

Featuring an unbreakable polycarbonate lens to withstand the harsh conditions of firefighting, the Survivor LED weighs 17.9 ounces and measures 7.06 inches. The light’s rugged nylon case is O-ring sealed for water resistance. The LED model is available in either yellow or orange.

The suggested retail price of the alkaline Survivor LED light is $84.95.Rechargeable models with various AC/DC charging options range in MSRP price from $134.95 to $224.95. All models come with Streamlight’s “No Excuses” limited lifetime warranty. Streamlight plans to donate a portion of Survivor LED sales proceeds to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to support programs that honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers.
