New Sprinkler Tools Keep Firefighters Safe and Dry

Quickstop Fire Sprinkler Tools has designed a new product for stopping the flow of water from activated and damaged fire sprinkler heads.

Designed by a San Diego Firefighter, the Quickstop Talon is the only sprinkler tool on the market that stops 1/2" and 3/4" sprinkler heads whether they are intact, damaged or completely sheared. It works faster and easier keeping fire personnel drier and safer. The Talon is the only sprinkler tool that offers a pole accessory which allows the operator to use the tool without having to climb dangerous slippery ladders or get wet with possibly contaminated water.

Modern fire protection systems can be filled with Microbiological Induced Corrosion (MIC), Propelyne Glycol (Antifreeze) or other contaminants such as mold, mildew or sludge. If you have ever smelled a system that has not discharged in some time, you know what I’m talking about. It’s simple, by functioning faster, the user is exposed less. This also creates less wear and tear on PPE from repetitive washing.

The Talon is a one hand operated, single motion tool that automatically locks in place when clamped. This allows firefighters to “get in and get out” faster and safer. The tools telescoping pole attachment decreases the need to climb slippery ladders thus reducing fall hazards.

Firefighters today have enough dangers in daily operations as it is. The Talon helps reduce some of the unnecessary hazards involved with managing fire protection systems.
