What would happen if 75 percent of your population was suddenly wiped out or down with an illness such as a pandemic flu event? This was asked of the city officials who met on Tuesday, November 8 during a training for such a catastrophe.
Jim Reinert, emergency management director of Murray County, met with city officials of the county in the first of three training sessions on management of disaster and pandemic flu events. The basis of the first meeting was identifying goals and objectives, planning for an emergency operation center (EOC), strategy and evaluations, and leave with a better understanding of strengths and weaknesses of disaster planning.
