Tonya Hoover, deputy U.S. fire administrator at the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), to talk about enhancing emergency services on how to deal with local disasters.

AUSTIN, Texas - ESO, the leading data and software company serving emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments, hospitals, state and federal agencies, today announced Tonya Hoover, a fire service leader and visionary with decades of experience implementing and training fire professionals on community risk reduction practices, will deliver the closing keynote presentation at Wave 2023, ESO’s national data conference held in Austin, Texas April 11-14.

“There are communities across the country that may not have parks and recreation, but they have a fire department, they have emergency services that are a core function of their community. It’s all about training and education,” said Tonya Hoover Deputy U.S. fire Administration. “If a local community entity is better prepared to handle their emergencies at their level, then there is a less likely chance that they will need more resources beyond the local capacities or at the state level and won’t have to rely on federal entities to help them recover from natural disasters.”

Tanya Hoover is Deputy U.S. Fire Administrator for the U.S. Fire Administration. She has served as the superintendent of the U.S. Fire Administration since January of 2020, which focuses on enhancing the ability of fire and emergency services and allied professionals to deal with fire and related emergencies more effectively. Her keynote will explore the role our environment plays in emergency response, why responders should be informed and always learning and why first responders should care about USFA.

“ESO is thrilled to have Deputy Hoover at Wave 2023. She comes with years of experience training firefighters, understanding code and regulations, and keeping up with industry trends,” said Bill Gardner, Senior Director of Fire Products for ESO. “We know that as the fire service continues to evolve and change, we will also have to change practices. I am confident that Deputy Hoover will bring some revolutionary insights during her Wave 2023 keynote on how we, as the fire service, can start to act and think more effectively when it comes to responding to emergencies.”
