Fire-Dex recognized as a 2021 evolution of manufacturing honoree

MEDINA, Ohio – Fire-Dex, a family-owned global manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE) for firefighters and first responders, announces its recognition as a 2021 Evolution of Manufacturing Honoree.

This award recognizes Northeast Ohio organizations and their outstanding ability to innovate, create, and drive new processes that result in a positive impact on local economic development. Despite this past year’s challenges, Fire-Dex has made strides by launching reusable AAMI-Level 3 Non-Surgical Isolation Gowns and Coveralls. This efficient product release gave first responders access to reusable PPE when disposable gowns weren’t accessible and offered durable protection when answering calls with potential COVID-19 patients.

“We are so grateful to receive the Evolution of Manufacturing Award for the first time,” states Steve Allison, President of Fire-Dex. “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of our dedicated team that holds immense pride for the work they put into creating innovative products for first responders across the globe.”

Over the last decade, Fire-Dex has acquired many businesses to grow, expand, and reach new talent. The acquisition of TECGEN in 2015 added a proprietary fabric and a new product line to their expanding portfolio, while the purchase of Darwood Manufacturing in 2018 allowed Fire-Dex to create a second manufacturing location in Pelham, Georgia. Fire-Dex also expanded the business to offer clean and repair services as an Independent Service Provider (ISP) when they acquired Gear Wash in 2019 and Done Right Fire Gear in 2020.

Fire-Dex is continuing to add talented staff to their organization. They invite you to visit www.firedex.com/employment to view current employment opportunities.
