http://www.gouldusa.com/catalog/productLine_home.php?line=K-FORCE The Yj series of rope bags are specifically designed for firefighting and rescue use. These will be the most useful rope bags your department will ever purchase. The bag is constructed with 4000 lbs rated rings and a tubular nylon-webbing strap. In the proper circumstances, the empty bag itself can be wrapped around an object and used as a rappelling anchor if necessary. They secure to a trucker’s belt or SCBA with a simple one-pull strap; so it is easy to remove and use as a throw or drop bag.
The most unique feature is the protective bonnet that covers the bag opening protecting the rope from dirt, moisture and UV light. The bonnet can also be used to stow used rope. Firefighters can resume work activities without removing or repacking the rope bag.
The Yj Series bags can be packed with varying sizes of 6.8mm to 8mm rope. The rope is gravity fed for ease of deployment and is attached with a carabiner to a ring inside the bag. This allows a firefighter to quickly detach the rope and daisy chain to a second rope. The Yj s200 is a shoulder carried bag intended for tag line use. It’s small size and lightweight makes it ideal for large searches.
Although the Yj Series bags may be used with any properly sized rope, we suggest Sterling RIT 900 and RIT 500 rope. RIT 500 rope is 8mm in size, with an Aramid outer sheath and a nylon core. It is a personal life safety rope rated at 4900 lbs. It can withstand temperatures up to 500 F before the nylon inner core will deteriorate. In the event the inner nylon is damaged, the outer Aramid sheath is rated at 2400 lbs and heat rated to 900 F. Providing an extra margin of safety to firefighters operating in heated environments.
RIT 900 rope is a 6.8mm braid style rope made of 100 % Aramid material. It is rated at 4200 lbs. And heat resistant to 900 F. RIT 900 makes an excellent search rope due to it’s light weight, strength and heat resistant qualities.
