This new light for hunters has features that also help make it a very effective tool for security personnel.
According to the lighting tool manufacturer Maxxeon Inc., the Realtree AP™ camouflage coating on the new WorkStar 2030 light looks great and offers a cushioned comfortable grip, but as company spokesperson Roger Britt cautions tongue-in-cheek, ”be careful where you set it down – you may not find it again.”
Inspired by the bold, unconventional design of the WorkStar 2000 Technician’s work light, the Hunter’s Floodlight can also be used “hands-free” and offers a unique combination of features. These include a moveable, directional light head with two brightness levels, and a choice of mounting options including powerful, integral rare earth magnets, retractable hook or tripod mount. The light is rechargeable, with a run time of up to eight hours and uses a single, high output 270 lumen light-emitting diode (LED) as the lighting source. The LED is virtually unbreakable and has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours.
A critical element of the light’s design is the beam pattern architecture that is common to all Maxxeon lighting tools. In contrast to most flashlight beam patterns, the wide-angle, floodlight-style beam pattern produced by the Maxxeon light has been designed to be completely uniform and free from the dark spots or hot spots. This clear beam pattern is achieved using an intense white light, and results in the user being able to see clearly, and easily distinguish features and colors within the beam range. This ability to see a wide field of view clearly and precisely is an obvious benefit to anyone working at night, as peripheral vision is greatly enhanced.
The Maxxeon Hunter’s Floodlight is also available in a red and black high impact plastic body and an imitation carbon fiber coated body and can be found at most truck parts stores and mobile tool dealers.
