Canadian Prime Minister Battles Kidde Firetrainer® Simulators

MONTVALE, N.J. - Suited up in firefighter gear, Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada was really feeling the heat on Friday, August 25, 2006 when he battled several Kidde fire simulators at the Toronto Fire Academy. (PM is second from left. Note “Harper” on his coat)

He was participating in the International Association of Fire Fighters’ Fire Ops Training along with 19 other elected Canadian officials. IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger said, “There is no better way for public officials to learn firsthand the unique challenges firefighters face and to truly feel the heat and pressure of the job.”
The PM battled several fires including Kidde’s gas-fuelled Strucutural FIRETRAINER® T-2000 interior fire simulator with flashover effect, as well as a Car FIRETRAINER® O-100 pictured below.
