CALGARY, Canada — A Calgary trauma surgeon is gearing up for another season of emergency work on young men who drink and roar around on their quads, fourby-fours and dirt bikes without wearing helmets.
It’ll inevitably bring about death and serious injuries that drain millions from the health-care system, according to Dr. Richard Buckley.
Buckley, a Calgary co-author of a research paper on injuries and deaths on all-terrain vehicles, blames the majority of Alberta’s 79 ATVrelated deaths over the past decade on poor decision-making.
