THOMASTON, Ga. — Two Georgia firefighters are seriously injured after being ejected from their fire engine during a crash on July 15.

Rock Hill Volunteer Fire Department firefighters Logan Gordy and Trista Cheeks were responding to a vehicle crash when the driver lost control and the fire engine overturned, WMAZ reported.

Gordy and Cheeks were flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Both are in ICU.

A Facebook post by Monroe County Emergency Services stated Cheeks underwent surgery and Gordy was placed in a medically-induced coma due to the severity of his injuries.
