RI fire chief dies after suffering stroke while riding a motorcycle

CHEPACHET, R.I. — The Chepachet Fire Department is mourning the loss of their fire chief, who passed away after suffering a stroke while riding his motorcycle.
Chief Robert Dauphinais had a stroke while he was riding his motorcycle with his wife, Turn to 10 reports. He lost control of the bike and struck a traffic island and a road sign.
Dauphinais suffered a traumatic brain injury due to the crash. His wife's injuries were not as severe.
"While we mourn the loss of our leader, we like to think of how fortunate we have been to have Chief Dauphinais in our department and our lives," fire department officials said.
