IRONDALE, Ala. — More than a week after Irondale firefighters came to the rescue following a home collapse, the children who were trapped inside got to say thank you to those firefighters for saving their lives.
Ashley Hunt-Logan wasn’t home when a tree came crashing down on her home, but her daughter was, along with several other children and a babysitter. “It was just total chaos the night of,” said Hunt-Logan.
The tree split the house in half. While the five children and their babysitter were all in one room together, the tree divided them. On one side of the tree was 10-year-old Bella Gentry, 4-year-olds Olivia Gentry and Eden Logan. On the other side of the tree was the babysitter, Amanda Courson-Reed, her 4-year-old daughter Lucy, and 3-year-old Kale Gentry.
