OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A photo of firefighters helping a woman cross the finish line of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is going viral.
KFOR.com reported that Midwest City (Okla.) firefighters Caleb Bryant and Garret Matlock helped a woman finish the latter part of the half marathon.
Witnesses said the firefighters started helping the woman at the 11th mile marker.
“We wanted to make sure that the training and the effort she put in to get that far that she finished it under her own power,” Bryant said.
The men were wearing full gear as they gave the woman words of encouragement and physically helped her push forward until she finished the race.
