CHEYENNE, Wyo. — On Wednesday morning, Cheyenne Firefighters of Local 279 and Engine 5 ignored the rain in order to give back to the community.
“They are just fabulous guys, fabulous.” Take Mrs. Joy Jackson for example. She’d contacted the Cheyenne Firefighters many times for help with her husband, a three time war veteran, who fell ill to Alzheimer’s. “It got to the point where I couldn’t get him up and down the stairs,” says Jackson.
But last fall, Joy’s husband George passed away, leaving her yard in need of extra care. “She just doesn’t have the time or the energy to manage this big of a yard,” adds Lieutenant. Kipp Sanders of Cheyenne Fire and Rescue.
