DALLAS — Shots were fired at Dallas Fire Rescue firehouses on March 8 and 10.
Dallas police are investigating the shootings and whether they are related, according to KRLD.
The March 10 shooting was a drive-by in which two bullets pierced Station 1’s bay doors.
In the first shooting inside Station 45, however, a Dallas firefighter allegedly fired a semi-automatic pistol. DFR said that firefighter was on administrative leave during the criminal and internal investigations.
“I know at least one shot was fired, but I’m not for sure if anything other than that occurred,” DFR Lieutenant Joel Lavender told KRLD NewsRadio 1080. “One of the things we really have to do in this situation is to make sure not only that our firefighters are safe, but we also have to work to see what we can do to help the member that’s affected by this.”
“If there’s something going on in his personal life, we want to use our resources that we have available to us as the city of Dallas and fire department to help make the situation better,” Lt. Lavender added.
No one was hurt in either incident.
