LITTLE CAILLOU, La. — A motorist injured in a 2010 crash is suing the Little Caillou, La., Volunteer Fire Chief.
The lawsuit alleges that Chief Marty Thibodeaux rear-ended a boat trailer attached to a pickup truck in an SUV owned by the fire department, according to the Daily Comet.
The wreck left Kevin Picou, one of four passengers in the truck, with “serious, painful, permanent and disabling injuries” to his neck and knee, the suit says.
State Police said at the time of the wreck that there were no injuries. Chief Thibodeaux said the crash was minor and that his airbags did not deploy.
Chief Thibodeaux was responding to a car wreck at the time, the article said. He was driving slower than normal due to fog and rain with the emergency lights on.
