As we have seen recently in videos and in pictures, there are the times when a vehicle on fire will roll away on us. This can be due to the fire destroying the parking brake cable, thus allowing the vehicle to roll forwards or backwards.
This is not what we want to have happen — a rolling vehicle on fire heading towards a building, another vehicle, or worse, the firefighters. Chock the wheels to prevent having a runaway vehicle in flames. We may lose a few pieces of wedges along the way, but they are cheap and easy to replace.
