CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Helmet camera video captured the intense conditions firefighters faced while battling an early-morning house fire.
Charlotte firefighters were called to the 1400 block of LaSalle Street at 4:28 a.m. on Sept. 11, the Charlotte Fire Department stated. Crews from Firehouse 18 arrived three minutes later and found a single-family home under renovation heavily involved in fire.

The video, recorded by a Tower 18 crewmember, shows heavy flames consuming part of the structure as firefighters advance toward the home and begin attacking the fire.
Additional crews responded, and firefighters brought the blaze under control at 4:48 a.m. No civilians or firefighters were injured.
The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force determined the fire was intentionally set. The department noted that intentionally-set fires expose firefighters, nearby residents and the surrounding community to unnecessary and unpredictable risks.
Property damage was estimated at $121,000.
