BATON ROUGE, La. — A firefighter was shot after the weapon of another firefighter accidentally discharged Monday.
Officials said the bullet ricocheted off a boat before striking the firefighter, reported KSLA. The gun discharged as firefighters, responding to flood rescue efforts, were placing boats into the water.
Bossier Parish Lt. Bill Davis said the firefighter is in serious, but stable condition. Both firefighters are part of the Bossier Parish Water and Technical Emergency Rescue Team.
Names of the firefighters have not been released.
Police are still investigating the incident.
