VALLEJO, Calif. —Vallejo Fire Station 21, has been vandalized with liquid feces twice in recent weeks, fire department officials said Friday.
The first time was April 28, the most recent on May 4, Vallejo firefighter Brett Smith said.
“Someone actually liquefied fecal matter, put it in a blender, or something, because there were no lumps, and poured it on our wall,” Smith said. “It creates quite a bio-hazard.”
Vallejo Fire Department Chief Russ Sherman said he is “aware of the poop problem,” but has no idea who’s doing it or why.
There are some working theories, he said.
“We’ve discussed it, and at first thought, it must be a neighbor disgruntled about the department for something,” Sherman said. “But now we’re leaning toward the theory that it’s a neighbor disgruntled about the prostitutes hanging around on the corners. Maybe they’re hoping to make the area so unpleasant that they move their operation elsewhere.”
The fire department is near City Park at Sacramento and Louisiana streets, an area where prostitutes are seen regularly.
The issue has been discussed with Vallejo Police Department officials and police reports were filed, he said.
