WEST GOSHEN, Pa. — First responders will have a new place to heal and recover from injuries at Fame Fire Company on Rosedale Avenue.

About 50 fire, police and EMS personnel watched a ribbon-cutting and attended a grand opening held by ProTeam Tactical Performance, a leading provider of specialized rehabilitation and wellness services for first responders, at its newest clinic on the second floor at the firehouse on Thursday.

The state-of-the-art facility offers a unique partnership between PTP and the local first responder community.

The West Chester clinic is dedicated to treating job-related injuries sustained by firefighters, police officers, and other emergency service professionals. With a team of highly trained physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists, PTP focuses on ensuring faster recoveries, reducing time away from duty, and improving the long-term health of first responders.

The facility features advanced rehabilitation equipment, personalized treatment programs, and a culture designed specifically for the physical demands and challenges of public safety professionals.

Muscular and skeletal injuries will be treated, including strains, sprains, tweaks and pulls to ankles, knees and backs.

Firefighters will mimic ceiling pulls and police officers might wear full equipment belts with a goal to feel confident, limit hesitancy and to prevent injury when re-entering the work force.

“First responders put their lives on the line every day for the safety of their communities,” said Jim Sorgi, co‑founder and co‑CEO of ProTeam Tactical Performance. “Our mission is to make sure they receive the same level of specialized care and recovery resources that professional athletes do. By opening this clinic inside the Fame Fire Company, we are not only providing top‑tier treatment but also embedding ourselves directly within the community we serve.”

PTPs Joey Vandever played pro baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and said that first responders are a very motivated population.

“They want to work and serve their community,” he said. “Our job is to treat them at a high level so they can continue doing what they love to do.”

Vandever said that Chester County first responders will receive the same elite “red carpet” level of care he received as a pro athlete. A trainer will spend an entire hour from start to finish with a first responder.

West Goshen Police Department Chief Michael Carroll helped bring the program to West Chester.

He said that Officer Justin DiMedio was instrumental in bringing PTP to Chester County, which will get officers back to work quicker and create better home lives.

Jordan Morris is a licensed physical therapist for PTP.

“We are really excited that we can bring this to Chester County, he said. “It’s a one-of-a-kind clinic and the first of its kind on the East Coast .”

Local leadership echoed the importance of the clinic’s arrival. Chief Carroll noted, “The demands of law enforcement and firefighting are unlike any other profession. Having ProTeam Tactical Performance right here in West Chester means our officers and firefighters will get specialized care that keeps them healthier, safer, and able to serve the community at their best. This is an incredible resource for our region.”

Mark Scanlon, Chief of the West Chester Fire Department, added, “We are excited to house ProTeam Tactical Performance in our building. Beyond the tremendous benefit of having specialized rehab and wellness services available to our firefighters, we believe this partnership will naturally foster more inter-agency communication. When police, fire, and EMS professionals share resources and interact in new ways, it strengthens relationships and directly improves outcomes on the street. That’s a win for both first responders and the communities we serve.”
