EMMITSBURG, Md. — The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation released a guide to help fire departments implement a behavioral health plan.
The NFFF’s Fire Service Behavioral Health Management guide will also help departments enhance their existing behavioral health programs as well as assist others who are beginning to develop programs with limited resources.
Many departments provided their input to help develop the guide, which discusses the key roles leaders, firefighters, peer and clinical support staff play to maintain the program.
Funding for the guide was provided by the DHS/FEMA Grant Program Directorate for Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program – Fire Prevention and Safety Grants.
