ORLANDO — The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) installed its 2025-2026 officers at the conclusion of Friday’s general session at Fire-Rescue International in Orlando.

  • Chief Trisha Wolford of the Anne Arundel County (Maryland) Fire Department was sworn in as IAFC president and board chair.
  • Chief Steven Locke of the South Burlington (Vermont) Fire Department was installed as first vice president.
  • Chief Ernest Malone of the Indianapolis Fire Department was sworn in as second vice president.
  • Chief James Silvernail of the Kirkwood (Missouri) Fire Department assumed the role of treasurer.

The oath of office was administered by Chief Joanne Rund, who emphasized the responsibility and commitment required of the incoming officers. The new officers will lead the IAFC in its mission to advance leadership, collaboration and progress across the fire service throughout the upcoming year.
