Calif. woman dies after car crashes into La. fire truck

The 22-year-old LSU student died after her car collided with a fire truck stopped at another traffic incident

BATON ROUGE, La. — A 22-year-old California woman was killed after her car collided with a fire truck in Louisiana on Sunday.

Baton Rouge firefighters responded to a semitruck with a punctured diesel tank that was pulled onto the shoulder and were assessing the leak when the woman’s car hit their truck, according to KATC.

Police said they believe the woman lost control after the initial impact and then crashed into the semitruck.

The woman was identified as Shayna Olivia Wilcox, a student attending Louisiana State University. Wilcox died at the scene of the crash.

No other injuries were reported.
