CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Officials are investigating the death of a firefighter who was found dead in his home Saturday.
NBC 2 reported that the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office went to Cape Coral Fire Department firefighter Christopher Asseff’s to check on him after he missed a shift, according to officials.
A police report said Asseff was found sitting on the floor at the foot of a bed in a spare room.

“He was well-liked, had earned the respect of his crew, and was known as a hard worker with a positive attitude,” the post read. “He was excited to be a brother in the Cape Coral Fire Department and had a promising career in front of him.”
Asseff’s death is currently under investigation. We will update you when more information becomes available.
