Calling all fire photographers: FireRescue1 wants to see your pictures! The next time you come across something inspiring, take out the camera and submit it to FireRescue1! Just remember to include your name, agency information and brief background information on the picture.
This week’s Photo of the Week shows how the first responder community rallied to support the family of fallen Spring Valley Firefighter Jared Lloyd, who died battling a blaze at an assisted living facility on Tuesday.
Lloyd was the father of two young sons: Darius, 5, and Logan, who turned 6 on Wednesday. For Logan’s birthday, first responders from agencies from across the region assembled to perform a drive-by parade at Lloyd’s home.
The tribute included every emergency services agency in Rockland County, as well as first responders from other counties in New York. Some first responders traveled from New Jersey to show their support for Lloyd’s sons.
An online fundraiser was also launched to support the boys’ futures and has raised more than $430,000 since Wednesday.
