PROSPER, Texas — Prosper first responders were called to a resident who suffered a heart attack while mowing his lawn, according to the department.

Crews stabilized the man and transported him to a hospital, where he underwent a successful cardiac procedure and is recovering.

After the ambulance left, Battalion Chief Jason Graham noticed the resident’s lawn was still half-mowed. Graham finished cutting the grass, cleaned up the yard and secured the home before returning to the station.

The department highlighted the gesture as an example of service beyond the emergency response.
