PORTLAND, Ore. — Cars belonging to Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters were vandalized Thursday afternoon.

KOIN.com reported that firefighters returned to the station after responding to calls to find the tires on five personal vehicles slashed. The vandalism happened between 12:30 and 2 p.m. The crews were called out to the birth of a baby during those hours.

“We’re very disappointed that someone would target firefighters who work 24/7, regardless of weather conditions or disasters,” the department wrote on Facebook.

The Facebook post also expressed relief that the vandal didn’t damage emergency vehicles.
