Fla. bystander burned in heroic crash rescue effort

TAMARAC, Fla. — A car burst into flames in a crash that left two women dead early Sunday.

Driver Sabrina Bisnauth Persaud, 29, of North Lauderdale, crashed the SUV she was driving into a concrete pole at Northwest 44th Street and Rock Island Road, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The crash also killed passenger Alyssa Seenauth, 21, of Miramar.

A bystander saw the accident and tried pull the women from the SUV, but they both died at the scene. That man, whose name was not released, had burns on his hands and was taken to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale for treatment.

An investigation into how the crash happened continues.
