    Erika Enslin

    Captain Erika Enslin has served with Sacramento (California) Fire Department for the last 26 years, with 32 years in the fire service. She is currently a station captain with a passion for outreach, recruitment and women’s issues. Captain Enslin is active in girls fire camps all over the West Coast and is a founding member of the Sacramento Area Girls Fire Camp. Enslin is a board member for Camp Blaze Girls Fire Camp, Triple F (Fierce Female Firefighters) Foundation, and the Pioneer Hook and Ladder Sacramento Regional Fire Museum. She also serves on the Sacramento Regional Diversity Committee and SFD’s Advisory Committee for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Transformation (ACED IT).

  • Tim Frankenberg is the fire chief of the Washington (Missouri) Fire Department. He has been in the fire service 25 years and has been a chief officer for 11 years. Frankenberg graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in fire protection and safety engineering technology. He is nearing completion of a master’s of leadership and management from Webster University. Frankenberg is a certified fire officer II, fire instructor II, inspector, hazmat technician and EMT. In addition, he is a NFPA-Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), NICET Certified Technologist in Fire Protection and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He also works full time for an electric utility as a fire protection engineer with responsibilities for oversight of an industrial fire training facility.

  • Colby Davis has been in the fire service for 15 years, 11 years of which in Dekalb County (Georgia) Fire Rescue where he is currently a captain, while also working as the assistant chief of training for Dallas Bay Fire Rescue in Tennessee; both organizations are ISO Class 2. Davis has a bachelor’s degree from Columbia Southern University where he studied fire administration/arson investigation, and he is currently enrolled in Oklahoma State University for his master’s degree in fire administration and emergency management. At Dekalb County Fire Rescue, Davis assists with the training division in teaching all instructor courses and fire officer courses. At Dallas Bay Fire Rescue, Davis instructs all aspects of the fire service, from basic firefighter to officer-level courses.

  • John Russ is a 20-year veteran of the fire service, currently working for the Brentwood (Tennessee) Fire & Rescue Department as a lieutenant/ paramedic. He has been the program manager for the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ Firefighter Near Miss Reporting System since January 2016. Russ has worked with the HERO Registry Ancillary Committee to review research proposals for COVID-19 studies with healthcare professionals and conducted curriculum reviews for the National Fire Academy’s Safety Program. He has a master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University in professional studies and two bachelor’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, one in fire and safety administration and one in prehospital emergency care. Russ is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
