NEW YORK — Firefighters and paramedics around the world are participating in the Running Man Challenge.
The social media dance craze, set to the 1995 song “My Boo” by the Ghost Town DJs, is said to have been sparked by University of Maryland basketball players Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley. The FDNY recently joined the challenge, posting a video to their Facebook page.
In the video, the firefighters and paramedics featured in the 2017 Calendar of Heroes perform their own spin on the dance at the FDNY Academy.
Paramedics from London Ambulance Service were also challenged to participate in the dance craze from their colleagues in New Zealand with St. John’s Ambulance Service. The crew posted a video featuring a paramedic attempting CPR before getting up to dance. Other paramedics step out of the ambulances and the patient on the floor takes part in the dance, too.
