TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Authorities said a trio of gift cards worth $300 were taken from a Traverse City fire station.

A firefighter at Traverse City Fire Department Station 1 on West Front Street called Traverse City police to report his Target gift cards stolen on Dec. 23 at about 6:50 p.m., police Capt. Jim Bussell said.

There were a lot of people in and out of the station that day for a toy drive and community events, Bussell said. The firefighter suspected someone visiting the station for the drive or events stole the cards.
