BURLESON, Texas — Three people were rescued from the top of a cell tower in Burleson on Friday afternoon, and one of them was critically injured. The incident caused power to be shut off for thousands of residents, city officials said.

Initial reports indicated that workers at a substation in the 800 block of North Burleson Boulevard came into contact with a high-voltage line, according to a Facebook post.

Power was shut off to allow emergency crews to complete the rescue, officials said.

The Burleson and Fort Worth fire departments completed an aerial rescue at around 3:50 p.m., officials with Burleson Fire said on Facebook.

One person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition, officials said.

Another person made it down from the tower themselves and the third person required assistance from emergency crews, according to WFAA-TV .
