KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH, Alaska — A destructive wildfire in Alaska is at the center of a video that shows apocalyptic-like footage of cars narrowly avoiding the flames.

AccuWeather shared a video revealing flames and smoke creeping by passing cars driving on a highway in the middle of the Swan Lake Fire in Alaska.

Lightning caused the wildfire, considered the largest to date in the area, encompassing 158,042 acres. Firefighting teams have been successful in managing the flames, and no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Because of the dry and warm weather, fire crews are anticipating a growth in the fire, and Gov. Mike Dunleavy has already issued a disaster declaration.

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conversation has also issued an air quality advisory due to multiple fires, including the Swan Lake Fire, and officials have placed multiple travel advisories for the area.
